Meet Angelina, a sophomore Integrative Biology and Public Health double major at UC Berkeley in Berkeley, California. She previously attended Elwood John H. Glenn High School in Elwood, New York.

What factors were most important when you decided to go to your college?

Strength of their programs, scholarships, reputation, type of students that attend, extracurriculars, and location.

In high school, I wish I could have...

Known how to study more efficiently and focus on my work more.

How would you characterize your school?

Hipster, Nerdy, Liberal, and Outdoorsy.

How would you characterize your group of friends?

Racially, religiously, and geographically diverse.

What types of clubs, activities, sports, jobs, etc are you involved with on campus?

Cal Women's Rugby, Cal Calling Center (paid fundraising job), ASUC (student government), Residential Code Revision Board.

Three things you won't read in your school's brochure:
  1. The people around you at Berkeley will challenge and stimulate you unlike any other group of people you've been around.

  2. The classes are hard, but if you truly invest yourself and your learning, you will feel so empowered and accomplished.

  3. Berkeley gives to its students a well-rounded life experience that will undoubtedly extend past undergraduate years.

Best on-campus event:

Welcome Week and Caltopia/Calapalooza.

Favorite class:

Theoretical Debates and the Topics of Religion: Secularism and its Critics.

Favorite dining hall meal:

24/7 cereal bar.

Favorite place to eat out around campus:

Montague's Sandwiches.

How did you spend your last summer?

Working as a nanny to save up some money, but mostly spending as much time with my friends as possible.

On weekends, students...

Kick it on campus.

It’s 3am on a Saturday. What are you doing?

Coming back from a kickback at a friend's frat.

It’s finals week and the libraries are packed. Where do you go to study?

Literally anywhere on campus; the benches, the grass, and the steps at Sproul Plaza.

Before I graduate, I want to…

Learn as much as I can from as many people as possible.
